Dora Dallwitz first became
engaged with the story of the Nullarbor Nymph hoax through hearing about
it from her father-in-law in 1984. Dave was in the process of writing
music and creating a record cover with the Nullarbor Nymph on the front.
Some years later Dora enrolled to do a Master of Visual Arts Degree
at the University of South Australia. During the early stages of this
course she spent a lot of time with husband John and friend Tony Hamilton
discussing the possibilities for making artworks based around the Nullarbor
Nymph story. Dora found it so rich in possible interpretations and readings
that her work on the subject continues to this day.
